The perfect face begins with the perfect foundation. Over the years, I have gone through a variety of different foundations pursuing the perfect blend of lightweight coverage. I wanted something between MAC’s heavy StudioTech and Bare Escentuals barely there formulas.
My quest ended a year ago at Barney’s in Beverly Hills. I had valet parked my car at Barney’s. The cost of valet parking was $5 unless you had purchased something at the store. I was hoping to find my perfect summer handbag at the store, but was disappointed at the selection. Yet, when all else fails there is always make-up.
I perused the shiny, decorated counters until I was pulled in by a soft-spoken saleswoman who offered to give me a makeover with her brand, Hourglass. This was the beginning of a love affair that has now lasted a year, a record amount of time for me to use any product.
I have sensitive, acne prone skin, and I am hesitant to let any new product near my face. Yet, the sales person guaranteed me that I wouldn’t regret it. The Hourglass formula is gentle on your skin and still provides adequate coverage. I was impressed with how well the foundation blended into my fair skin and decided to take a risk on this new line. I purchased the foundation, powder, and concealer. And I haven’t looked back since.
A month after using the products regularly, my aesthetician noticed a drastic improvement in my skin. I had noticed it too. My skin had cleared up virtually completely. For once, the salesperson wasn’t just trying to make a sale.
The products are expensive, but I promise they are worth every dime. In addition to being exceptional products, they last forever. A year later, I am on my second bottle of foundation and my second powder compact. I still have the original concealer. Surprisingly, Hourglass is difficult to find. I have yet to find it anywhere other than the Barney’s Beverly Hills. Even Barney’s New York doesn’t carry it. Thank God for the internet. Check out www.hourglasscosmetics.com for the entire collection.
Oh, and did I mention I got my valet parking ticket validated?
